It also shines with its detailed purge/clean commands for maintaining order. While Dyno's Premium plan has some limitations, most of them can be supplemented with other free bots or are reasonable for average servers. Overall, Dyno remains a powerful and versatile tool for managing Discord servers effectively. ### πŸ€” Who's It For Dyno is an extremely wide-reaching bot, and as such it's a very good choice for pretty much every type of server and every level of Discord Administrator. In a bizarre turn of events, Discord implemented Reaction Roles of sorts themselves. In order to have this feature you need to make your server a Community Server which is completely free and does nothing to make your server more 'public' if that's a concern. From there you need to set up the 'Onboarding' section until you come to the part labeled 'Customisation Questions' which lets you then create Reaction Roles for your members. In some ways, it's even better since it presents the option to add roles before they enter the rest of your server and there really is no way to skip past them. πŸ’΅ It's free, unless it becomes a Discord Nitro restriction somehow\... ### πŸ” Alternative 2: Maki If you absolutely need a bot that does reaction roles in the traditional style, Maki is a solid option that does a lot more than just reaction roles. You can create up to 10 reaction roles with any roles you like, and using the dashboard you can even send a message yourself, copy the message link, and tell Maki to add on reaction roles later on! πŸ’΅ You get 10 messages to add Reaction Roles to. Believe it or not, Discord's built-in moderation tools have come a long way in the last few years. You'll find them under the Moderation header of your server settings and they come with everything from Raid Protection, CAPTCHA, DM and Spam Protection, your very own customizable AutoMod, and permission suggestions. The main reason to choose the Discord first-party option is precisely because of; it's first-party. This means that Discord is the same entity that owns the platform, they can achieve much higher vertical integration than any bot can ever dream of. The AutoMod in particular is extremely versatile, and for example, prevents excluded messages from being sent at all instead of being retroactively removed. It can hook into your already set up Discord AutoMod setup which makes it a great choice for a second line of defense, has separate auto moderator configurations for different message types and channels, and even an experimental AI Moderation feature can be used! It also can hook into Discord's own AutoMod system and has more sophisticated systems for Admin Nukes and Server Join spam. The only issue we have with these systems is that critical features are premium only, such as detecting member prunes as part of the Anti-Nuke feature, the entire Join Raid feature which is the most common type of Raid, and a special Panic Mode feature. Atlas Bot's Actions feature can do so many different things and is smart enough to combine the "Automation" function together with the "Custom Commands" function. Polls are really simple and so is the Dyno Polls feature, but it definitely gets the job done. Using the /poll command you can set a title, and up to 10 different options and the bot creates the embed message in the same channel as you wrote the command and adds the reactions automatically. All your users then need to do is tap on the reactions to vote! They describe it as: "With our visual Embed editor, your announcements, rules, and other events will never go unnoticed again." and it costs €12 per Month. ### πŸ” Alternative 1: Embed Generator A simple name for a straightforward bot that does what you want it to do. Creating Embeds in Discord unfortunately are not allowed to user accounts and rather only for bots, but they are extremely useful in conveying a lot of information for, for example, an FAQ channel, a Role Information channel, or even really beautiful announcements. Embed Generator has a live updating website that lets you create a stylize your personal Embedded messages and then send them to a Webhook URL that you've already placed into a channel, or if you've invited the bot, send it directly into a channel. Although you can save up to 25 messages to edit or send them later on as a template, you need to buy premium if you want to save up to 100 messages. In particular, we really like their implementation of what they call an 'Embed Builder'. Fundamentally they have the same features as they both build on the same Discord feature, however, Atlas doesn't support components, which are the buttons you can now click on underneath certain embed messages. Unless you really need components though, we think Atlas' Embed Builder is a solid choice, especially since it can be exported as simple JSON and also can be used throughout other Atlas features by referencing the embed you've made with the Embed Builder Link. πŸ’΅ Atlas Bot has a Premium for $5 per Month, but the Embed Builder is completely free! {% embed url="" %} # Recording ### MEE6 MEE6's Recording Plugin may as well be premium locked as well since you can only record up to 2 minutes per recording, which might not even be enough to dial in your audio setting correctly before speaking. If you want to record more than 2 minutes, it's €12 per Month. ### πŸ” Alternative 1: Craig There isn't much competition when it comes to Audio Recording bots on Discord, mainly because we think using [Audacity](https://www.audacityteam.org/) and setting it to record your desktop audio is a lot easier, however for those of you who want to go down the bot route, Craig is thankfully by your side. Craig lets you record up to 6 hours and save the resulting file for up to 7 days during which time you can download it to your computer locally. It can record in multiple different file types if you prefer your audio-free and lossless. The premium options for being in a virtual monopoly are really reasonable too. Now here's a shocker: It's also quite literally **the only feature that's completely free.** ### πŸ” Alternative 1: Dyno Yet again Dyno proves that it is truly an All in One bot. Like the Polls plugin, it is a basic feature, letting you set a time to be reminded and a message to write, however for 90% of people that's going to be enough to set a quick reminder to check up on a poll you set earlier, remind you to send out that important announcement or remind you to do your daily tasks in an economy bot of your flavor. πŸ’΅ Dyno itself has a Premium option for $5 per Month but the Reminders feature is completely free! {% embed url="" %} ### ❌ ANTI-Alternative: dotNotify Here's something we don't usually do. During the research for this blog, we stumbled across dotNotify which seemed a good alternative to recommend as a replacement for the, admittedly free, MEE6 Reminders plugins. However, as soon as we authorized with Discord it immediately sent us an Email with "\[IMPORTANT INFO INSIDE]" in the title. Not only that but it also automatically signed us up to their mailing list. {% hint style="danger" %} #### This is completely unacceptable! {% endhint %} A bot whose only objective is to remind you of something and schedule messages for you, **DOES NOT** need your Email address. # Statistics Channel ### πŸ‘‘ MEE6 We're actually not entirely sure what you can do with the MEE6 Statistics Channel feature since it's a Premium feature and doesn't show us what you can configure if you have Premium. They describe it as: "Display your server's or social's statistics directly in the sidebar and stay on track." and it costs €12 per Month. ### πŸ” Alternative 1: Statbot Statbot is a full-package statistics bot that lets you track so many different things about your Discord server, however, for now, we're going to stick to the Statistics Channel feature which they call "Statdocks". On the surface, they have a very well-designed Menu and Button system for setting up your Statdock, and you can set up counters for member statistics, server statistics, and even different timezones. However, for Social statistics, it is again Premium only. The monetization is a little weird, however, since you can "pick and choose" which upgrades you want for your Statbot instance. πŸ’΅ If in this case you only want the Statdock upgrade, it's only $3 per Month or if you want the full package it's a very uneven $12.71 per Month. {% embed url="" %} ### πŸ” Alternative 2: ServerStats ServerStats is a very neat bot that does a lot of what the MEE6 Statistics Channel is probably also doing. Using it you can create non-functioning voice channels (The only type of channel that doesn't use dashes and all lowercase) to create a sort of tracking of certain statistics you want to have displayed to the whole server. The reason ServerStats isn't quite as complete is that it only allows you to create counters that measure things about your own Discord server. In order to count for example the number of subscribers on your YouTube channel you need to pay for Premium. They describe it as: "Create temporary voice channels that are automatically deleted after a certain amount of time." and it costs €12 per Month. ### πŸ” Alternative 1: EmpyManager EmpyManager, although it is an... interesting name for its designed purpose is a very well-thought-out Temporary Voice Channel bot. It's set up with just one command and allows users to use commands and buttons in much the same fashion as TempVoice to control the temporary channel. Its dashboard is rudimentary in terms of features, things that are nice to have but are definitely not enough and not complex enough to warrant using a dashboard. The Premium model is a lot more appealing though since it gives you 2 "Creator" channels right off the bat. The premium version also includes some features like self-roles that aren't the reason you invited the bot. πŸ’΅ Premium is €3.50 per Month and Premium+ is €7 per Month {% embed url="" %} ### πŸ” Alternative 2: TempVoice TempVoice is a very popular alternative to using and creating Temporary Voice Channels and for good reason. This panel can be customized in the dashboard for you to change how much power a user has over their created temporary voice channel.
